In order to achieve peace of mind each time you drive your Acura, follow a strict maintenance schedule to eliminate unnecessary issues. At Crown Acura, we recommend changing your vehicle’s oil on time, replacing the battery when needed, listening out for brake wear, and additional suggestions that will keep your Acura in excellent condition.

Changing The Oil

Changing the oil is significant to the life of your engine. If your engine runs out of oil or has a small amount, the vehicle will no longer function properly. It is best to check your Acura owner’s manual and follow the recommended maintenance schedule.

If you drive long distances or make frequent stops, it’s a good idea to change the oil earlier than expected. If you hear a grinding sound in the engine or your vehicle stalls, that is a good indication that your engine has little to no oil. Additionally, changing the oil filter every time you change your oil will ensure clean oil remains in the engine. We will gladly change your oil and oil filter at our Clearwater location. While you are here, we can also take a look at your transmission fluid and determine whether or not it needs to be flushed.

Battery Replacement

There are a few things to look for when determining if you need to replace your car battery or not. If your car battery is over 5 years old (the average auto car battery lasts about 4 years), you should bring your Acura into Crown Acura Service to have it tested. Our car battery service technicians will perform a test that will tell you how strong the battery is.

Unfortunately, there is no fixed rule or time when to get your car battery replaced. The length of time your car battery will last depends on a few things like how heavily the battery gets used, the quality of your current battery, the weather conditions you use it in, and how much car battery maintenance you've done.

Unsure of whether or not you could use a new car battery? Stop by Crown Acura Service in Clearwater and have it tested. Our service technicians will help you decide if it's time to change your car battery or not.

Brake Care

Brake inspections should take place every 5,000 miles to ensure there is no air in the hydraulic system or a fluid leak in the master cylinder. Flushing the entire system is recommended every two years to extend the life of your brakes. Our team can flush your vehicle’s brake system, inspect, or replace any brake components, including brake pads and rotors, as a preventative service or to prevent any further damage.
Most people begin to recognize something is off about their brakes when it becomes more difficult to brake. You might notice it takes more pressure to brake, or maybe it’s a strange noise when your foot hits the pedal. Before issues begin to surface, it is a good idea to check your owner’s manual for the recommended brake service schedule. Most manufacturers suggest replacing brake pads and changing brake fluid roughly every 25,000 miles. When that time comes, our professional staff will take care of your brakes for you!
