We Can Help with Acura Transmission Problems

If your transmission warning light goes on, it’s important to bring your Acura in for service as soon as possible. There are also more subtle warning signs that indicate your Acura may have transmission issues. These include:

  • Transmission fluid leaks (these are the most common sign)
  • Delayed gear shifts
  • Odd noises or grinding sounds when shifting
  • Strange smells coming from your transmission

If you notice any of these signs, give the Service Center at Crown Acura a call, or make an appointment online, and we’ll connect you with service experts who can get to the root of your transmission problems.

Acura Transmission Fluid Exchange vs. Flush

Routine transmission fluid exchanges are necessary to keep your transmission lubricated and running smoothly. If you don’t routinely change your fluids, your transmission may begin to slip. The recommended fluid change interval is generally 30,000 miles, but to be sure, you can check your owner’s manual, or ask the experts at Crown Acura.

A transmission flush becomes necessary if your system hasn’t been looked after and has collected too much dirt and debris. If our experts find that your transmission fluid has turned dark and contains sediments, they may recommend a complete system flush rather than a simple fluid exchange.

A flush is a bit more detailed and includes replacing the fluid in the transmission pan and removing fluid from the cooler lines and other components. This generally requires a specialized flushing machine and around 10 quarts of fluid.

Acura Transmission Filter Replacement

As a rule, your Acura transmission filter needs to be replaced every 30,000 to 50,000 miles. If you’re not sure when the last time your Acura’s transmission filter was changed, bring it into Crown Acura and have our experts check it for you.

There are several components to your transmission filter besides the filter itself—which is a metal plate covered with a fiber material to catch pollutants. These include a gasket, pickup tube, and rubber seal. When our experts change your old filter, they’ll also check these other components for damage and wear, and replace them if necessary.

Acura Transmission Replacement

Transmission replacements can be complex and difficult. That’s why it’s important to bring your Acura to service experts who’ve been trained and certified in the finer points of Acura transmissions. At Crown Acura, our experts know your car’s transmission and all its parts and pieces.

Our Service Center has the latest equipment and technology for our experts to work with, and they also use only genuine Acura OEM parts so your vehicle will continue to run as well as it did the day you purchased it.
