The MDX is a mid-size crossover luxury SUV that comfortably seats seven adult passengers spread through its three rows of seats. Produced since 2000, and completely redesigned for 2014, the MDX has received a few changes for 2017 to the exterior appearance, body components, and engine performance. The new 2017 Acura MDX is designed to be more streamlined and versatile - an upgraded suspension will help the MDX navigate more difficult terrain and its lighter construction makes the vehicle more aerodynamic.

2017 MDX FEATURES
The MDX?s 3.5L engine is optimized for both performance and efficiency - it is a V6 that produces 290 horsepower and 267 lb.-ft. of torque. It includes direct gas injection, variable cylinder management, and Acura?s own VTEC technology, a system that is designed to improve the volumetric efficiency of four stroke engines. The powerful engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission that includes paddle shifters mounted to the steering wheel. The efficient construction of the engine translates into EPA ratings of 19mpg in the city, 27mpg on the highway and 22mpg combined*.
INTERIOR
Leather seating is the standard upholstery material for every MDX along with driver and passenger 8-way power seats. The driver?s seat, in particular, features two memory settings for seat position, steering wheel angle, and exterior mirror position as well as audio and climate settings. Heated front seats are also standard equipment. Heated second-row seats are standard with the advance package add-on. A 50/50 split folding third-row seat is standard equipment on the MDX. Many other options for folding down seats exist as options in different packages, so drivers can configure their 2nd and 3rd rows in a way that works best for their lifestyle. The MDX comes standard with tri-zone automatic climate control, allowing the driver, front passenger, and rear passengers to adjust temperature and airflow to their personal comfort levels. The ventilation system also includes humidity control and air filtration.
FEATURES
Instead of organizing the MDX models according to trim levels as most car manufacturers do, the MDX base model includes many standard features and then customers can purchase various packages to upgrade the base model. Available upgrades include the technology package, entertainment package, or advanced package collection. Every MDX comes standard with the Acura premium audio system with 8 speakers. The audio system upgrade, available in the technology, entertainment, and advanced packages, includes the Acura/ELS studio premium audio system with 10 speakers. The MDX also offers many options for smartphone integration, including text message reading and Siri Eyes Free technology (iPhone only).
SAFETY
AcuraWatch, Acura?s collection of safety and driver assistive technologies, comes standard in every MDX model and is the first SUV in its class to do so. The technologies are designed to improve driver awareness and help avoid unfortunate collisions. AcuraWatch includes a collision mitigation system, designed to prevent forward collisions by detecting objects in the front of the vehicle and visually alerts the driver when a crash is possible. Adaptive cruise control allows drivers to maintain a constant speed even in light traffic as it maintains a set interval between you and the car ahead. The MDX?s lane keeping assist system visually and audibly alerts the driver if they begin to veer out of a traffic lane and guides it back towards the middle. This system works with the MDX?s overall road departure system, which uses cameras and sensors to recognize road boundaries and designated lane lines. A surround-view camera, which has six different angles, assists drivers when parking or reversing.
