It's new, and it's primed for domination. The 2016 Acura TLX is the second model-year entry of the nameplate, which Honda's luxury division Acura introduced as a mid-size sedan in the middle of 2014. Performance
Even at the base level, the 2016 Acura TLX astounds with power. It has a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine with 206 horsepower and 182 lb-ft of torque. The aptly named V6 has a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque, which is also on the SH-AWD, which is equipped with Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system. An eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and sequential SportShift paddle shifters provide a smooth yet exciting ride. Fuel economy is also top-notch, at up to 24 mpg* in the city and 35 mpg* on the highway.
Interior
With 93.3 cubic feet of passenger volume, the 2016 Acura TLX is perfect for accommodating up to five people. The 14.3 cubic feet of cargo capacity is more than enough for your luggage - whether you're making a drop-off at the airport or going on a long road trip. Heated, power front seats come standard, while the driver's seat also includes 10-way power adjustability, power lumbar support, and a two-position memory system. The interior comes wrapped in premium leather. The V6 and SH-AWD trims include an eight-way power adjustable seat instead of four-way, as an added bonus for those who upgrade from the base model.
Features
At the front of the 2016 Acura TLX interior is the On Demand Multi-Use Display, a touchscreen system that integrates all car information for easy access. Other standard features are Bluetooth, hands-free text messaging, stereo system with Radio Data System and SiriusXM satellite radio, rearview camera, power moonroof, HomeLink garage-door controller, remote keyless entry, push-button engine start, and 17- or 18-inch machine-finished aluminum alloy wheels. Depending on trim or selected package, you can get additional features, such as voice recognition, navigation, remote engine start, HD Radio, and auto dimming on the heated power side mirrors.
Safety
For enhancing occupant protection and crash compatibility in frontal collisions, the 2016 Acura TLX features an Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure. It comprises a network of connected structural elements for distributing crash energy more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle. The TLX is also armed with a seven-airbag system, which consists of two front airbags, one driver's knee airbag, two side-impact airbags, and two side-curtain airbags. Other standard safety features include electronic vehicle stability, traction control, anti-lock braking system (ABS), and tire pressure monitoring system.
