Serving Clearwater, Tampa, Largo, St. Petersburg, Palm Harbor, FL

The new 2017 Acura NSX is the re-envisioning of the iconic Acura model sports car that was once ahead of its time. The Nissan GT-R, popularly known as the "Godzilla," carries similar adornment globally. Both cars have several similarities and differences. Performance is at their core, but how that is delivered is where they are world’s apart.

Pure Performance

The 2017 Acura NSX and Nissan GT-R are equipped with a 3.5 liter V6 and a 3.8 liter V6 twin turbo engines respectively. Setting itself in a different class, the 2017 NSX is engineered as a hybrid sports car. The front wheels features two electric motors that are mechanically independent from the rear power unit. The hybrid power combination pumps out 573 hp @ 6500 rpm and 476 ft-lbs. @ 2000 rpm. The Nissan GT-R gas power plant tops off at 545 hp @ 6400 rpm and 463 ft-lbs. @ 3200 rpm. While these are similar performance number, the 2017 NSX hybrid technology affords it better efficiency to go with the power with ratings of 21 city / 22 hwy mpg compared to the GT-R 16 city / 22 hwy mpg.

Delightful Design

When it comes to appearance and design, Acura NSX takes the lead. The 2017 Acura NSX is a rolling sculpted masterpiece worthy of the Italian masters. Constructed from light-weight aluminum and carbon fiber, the NSX is light, sturdy, and performance driven. Attention to detail extends throughout each car produced, from the hand-crafted engines to the hand painted process that occurs in-house and take more than 20 hours per vehicle. While Nissan also employs hand-crafted engines for the GT-R and a level of quality to rival, it is nowhere near the meticulousness that is employed by Acura to create each 2017 NSX.

Exquisite Engineering

One of the main performance difference is speed. Let's take a closer look. The GT-R has one of the best maximum capacity engines which seems to be a superior monster, compared to the NSX engine. The "beauty vs. brains" contest is real here. Acura used the best trick that makes the car move much faster than the GT-R. The difference is the transmission system. The NSX offers a 9-speed transmission, while the GT-R offers 6-speed transmission. Since the acceleration rate for both cars is the same considering the dual clutch system and the engine power, transmission is what brings the difference, and here the NSX takes the lead. So if you want to have a faster machine with lesser noise and a better fuel economy, then NXS is what's best for you.
